If you've visited the site before, no doubt you've noticed that we've made some changes. We're in the process of rolling out all the features we've been promising. For instance, we've added new category and search filters to most sections to make it easier for you to get the info you're trying to find. Although it doesn't have a lot yet, we've finally put the new community calendar out there. The "What's Going On" section is designed to let you add your own events. In the future, there'll be some limits, but at this point, you can post as many events as you want. Organizations can add whatsup@blackgayusa.com to their mailing lists, and we'll try our hardest to post all yours events for you.

We're still calling this the preview version of the site, but we're working as hard as we can to introduce a lot of new features to our all-important city guide. Soon, you'll be able to add and look up information about books by black gays and lesbians, movies, and upcoming performances. You'll be able to include the most popular spots in your metro area, like the best place to go clubbing or the best restaurants that cater to gays and lesbians of color. We've spent a lot of time talking to people across the country about what they need and want to see on a community site. After all, this site is for you, and we hope that it will be by you as well.

Oh, and you share what you think by rating and commenting on just about any piece of info that's on the site. So, if you know that restaurant down the way is whack, you can say so. You can let the rest of us know where to go and where not to go. BlackGayUSA.com is the place for you to let the rest of the world know what's going on in your 'hood. That's all part of our goal of "Building a Better Community."
